TED Talk: Ole Qvist-Sørensen – ‘Draw more, together’ at TEDxCopenhagen 2012

“We must draw more together. We all know that a picture is worth a 1000 words. Pictures can convey complex information in a way, which is natural for our brains to grasp. Visual thinking is a gift we all have and drawing is an easy and simple way to show and involve others in understanding – or seeing – what we mean. Drawing together can be seen as a collective meaning-making process for a group. It’s easy to learn. It’s intuitive. It starts with pen, paper and curiosity.”
In September I went to TEDxCopenhagen 2012. This is Ole Qvist-Sørensen’s talk from this very inspiring day.

TED Talk: Adora Svitak – What adults can learn from kids

Child prodigy Adora Svitak says the world needs “childish” thinking: bold ideas, wild creativity and especially optimism. Kids’ big dreams deserve high expectations, she says, starting with grownups’ willingness to learn from children as much as to teach.

TED Talk: Temple Grandin – The World Needs All Kinds Of Minds

Watching the story of Carly Fleischmann - and being so inspired by it – made me search TED for talks about autism and how their brain functions. This lead me to Temple Grandin, who is quite a piece! And truly inspiring too.
I love her comment about different thinkers and Silicon Valley.
Autism activist Temple Grandin talks about how her mind works – sharing her ability to “think in pictures”, which helps her solve problems that neurotypical brains might miss. She makes the case that the world needs people on the autism spectrum: visual thinkers, pattern thinkers, verbal thinkers, and all kinds of smart geeky kids.
