This rainy series is made by French photographer Christophe Jacrot.

“In my opinion, there are two ways of capturing the world for a photographer; on the one hand grasping its horror, and on the other sublimating it. I have chosen the second. More specifically, I like the way rain, snow and ‘bad weather’ awaken a feeling of romantic fiction within me, mainly in the big cities”, he says.

Revolution (Life Cycle of a Drop of Water)

Revolution ( Life Cycle of a Drop of Water)

The video depicts the revolutionary nature of the life cycle of a droplet of water and it’s cyclical journey. The project was a three-fold collaboration between myself, Helen Friel and Jess Deacon. From the original idea, through the creative development and process, our individual skill sets enabled the project to spring to life.

Giant Table and Chairs as an Unconventional Horse Shelter

Giant-Table-and-Chairs-as-an-Unconventional-Horse-Shelter-1 Giant-Table-and-Chairs-as-an-Unconventional-Horse-Shelter-2

A farmer and merchant located in Doellstaedt, East Germany created these giant furniture pieces that inadvertently acted as a shelter to his livestock.

Protecting the horses from the elements, whether it be rain, sun or snow; the land owner also wanted to advertise his products for sale. Though it’s located in a relatively simple and untouched area, this shelter has garnered worldwide recognition. Certainly a whimsical outlook on any sort of conventional barn or stable.

Walk Through The Rain Without Getting Wet With rAndom International

Whoa, would I ever love to experience this!

London based collobrative group rAndom International’s interactive installation Rain Room allows you to have the luxury of walking through the rain without getting a single drop on you. Rain Room is a hundred square metre field of falling water through which it is possible to walk, trusting that a path can be navigated, without being drenched in the process.

As you progress through The Curve, the sound of water and a suggestion of moisture fill the air, before you are confronted by this carefully choreographed downpour that responds to your movements and presence.

Kinetic Rain: 1,216 Computationally Controlled Bronze Raindrops at Changi Airport in Singapore

So beautiful!

In the course of refurbishment works ART+COM was commissioned to create a signature art installation for the Departure Check-in hall of Terminal 1 at Singapore Airport. “Kinetic Rain” is composed of two parts, each consisting of 608 rain droplets made of lightweight aluminum covered with copper. Suspended from thin steel ropes above the two opposing escalators, each droplet is moved precisely and seemingly floating by a computer-controlled motor hidden in the halls ceiling. The drops follow a 15-minute, computationally designed choreography where the two parts move together in unison, sometimes mirroring, sometimes complementing, and sometimes responding to each other.
