When Nature Calls Toilet Paper Capsule

This is so smart! I bet you can make it yourself, for your camping and canoeing trip!
When Alberta College of Art & Design asked their design students to create something that generates social or economic value, students Sarah Jensen, Janet Molchanko, Amy Pon, and Morgan Smith immediately thought of one thing – number 2.
An adventure in the great outdoors comes at a steep compromise of comfort, and when nature calls, leaves don’t always do the trick. In response to the discomfort of forests-sans-toilets, Jensen, Molchanko, and Smith created a waterproof toilet paper capsule made from a 2L plastic soda bottle, a resealable bag, reflective tape, silicone, twine, and recycled paper.
The capsule is designed be hung and has an optional light attachment, for those late night rumbles. Now, at one point or another, every camper has made some sort of make-shift toilet paper holder, but kudos to this crew for refining it, packaging it, and giving it a clever name, When Nature Calls.

Revolution (Life Cycle of a Drop of Water)

The video depicts the revolutionary nature of the life cycle of a droplet of water and it’s cyclical journey. The project was a three-fold collaboration between myself, Helen Friel and Jess Deacon. From the original idea, through the creative development and process, our individual skill sets enabled the project to spring to life.

Oxfam: Give Naked

Each year during the holiday months an extra 5 million tons of garbage is added to our landfills, mostly due to wrapping paper. If we all gave naked with just a few presents, we could save enough paper to cover 45,000 football fields. So huddle up gifters. Get crafty. Get creative. Give naked.

Introducing the Guardian and Observer Weekend – Own the Weekend!

The Guardian and BBH London follow up on last year’s blockbuster “Three Little Pigs” spot with another blockbuster – of a different kind. Tim Godsall of Biscuit Filmworks directs “Own The Weekend,” an amazing three-minute long film made up of every Jerry Bruckheimer/Hollywood preview trope possible, all to tell you just one thing: The company now owns the consecutive two days that were formerly known as The Weekend.

Chicago Children’s Museum: Toy store
The number 1 gift during the holidays in the US are video games. This made Chicago children’s museum think: can kids still see the fun of something free which requires no instruction? It’s more of a simple test to see if kids still can use their imagination.

Warm Myth – Working

Warm Myth is Kieran Adams and Casey Mecija. Together with director Jesse Yules they made this video for “Working”. Skilfully, Yules animates the seductive rhythms and tempting lyrics of Warm Myth’s song. This experimental video uses paint, origami and mirrors to create a visual collage.

TED Talk: Ole Qvist-Sørensen – ‘Draw more, together’ at TEDxCopenhagen 2012

“We must draw more together. We all know that a picture is worth a 1000 words. Pictures can convey complex information in a way, which is natural for our brains to grasp. Visual thinking is a gift we all have and drawing is an easy and simple way to show and involve others in understanding – or seeing – what we mean. Drawing together can be seen as a collective meaning-making process for a group. It’s easy to learn. It’s intuitive. It starts with pen, paper and curiosity.”
In September I went to TEDxCopenhagen 2012. This is Ole Qvist-Sørensen’s talk from this very inspiring day.

Shadow Faces by Kumi Yamashita

Impressive shadow art by Kumi Yamashita. These pieces are made by colorful post-its, looking like a bunch of construction paper pieces neatly arranged on a blank white wall at first glance. But when you look closer you notice the human faces.
