Un-instrusive Pop Up Street Furniture of the Netherlands

Street art and furniture in public places tends to be the last thing on the minds of public planners. Many artists have been branching out into more creative and innovative ways of putting inviting and interesting designs for the general public. Carmela Bogman and Rogier Martin of The Netherlands have come up with an interactive design for the people.
By utilizing a hydraulic system, users can determine which pieces to bring up and determine their own seated or standing heights to set the modular blocks at. There are three retractable pieces that come up to function as a lounge area, eating spot or meeting place – or just lower them all down to be flush with the cement to keep the flow of traffic moving.

Richard Silver’s NYC Church Panoramas

This cool series by photographer Richard Silver is of New York City Church Panoramas.
“As someone who has traveled all over the world sometimes you forget how much New York has to offer to a photographer. I am always trying to find new and different ways to photograph this city. This is my newest renditions of New York in photographs.
Each photo is about six to ten photos stitched together to make the panorama. Shooting from the pew to the exit door and back again making sure I get the shot the second time if there is something not good from the first one”, Richard Silver says.

British Soccer Star Gary Neville Designs Underground Flower Shaped House

Gary Neville, the former captain of the Manchester United, wants to build an extremely interesting underground home in Bolton, UK. Although, he’s currently having a little trouble completing it as the town’s planning committee has so far rejected the proposal. Neville however is not giving up and continues to pursue for his underground flower shaped house to be completed; arguing that the house is extremely eco-friendly.
The 8,000 sq-ft, 4 bedroom home is deliberately embedded into the contours of the Pennine hillside to minimise the impact on the surrounding moorland. It has a roof of flora and meadow grasses which flows seamlessly over the property and into the landscape. The home has been designed to consume less energy and uses a ground source heat pump, photovoltaic panels and a wind turbine in order generate on-site renewable energy. If approved and once fully completed, it would be the first zero-carbon property in north west England.
