Before I Die… in NOLA by Candy Chang

Before I Die… in NOLA by Candy Chang.
Candy Chang is a public installation artist, designer, urban planner, and co-founder of Civic Center who likes to make cities more comfortable for people. Enjoy her work here.
About the installation Before I Die… in NOLA, Candy Chang says:
“One month later and seven hours of stenciling today, and it’s up! With a lot of help and support from old and new friends, I turned the side of an abandoned house in my neighborhood into a giant chalkboard where residents can fill in the blank and remember what is important to them in life.
It’s also about turning a neglected space into a constructive one where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around us. It turns out this entire process has been a great lesson, experience, and project in itself – more on that later.
If you’re in New Orleans, stop by the corner of Marigny and Burgundy (900 Marigny St) to add your thoughts to the wall and see what matters most to your neighbors. The responses and stories from passers-by while we were installing it have already hit me hard in the heart.”

I Will Talk With Anyone About Anything

Now here’s a great idea for a bachelor party. Or if you have a spare Sunday with nothing better to do. I love this! I should really do this more often. Tables are just so heavy to carry.
This guy is called Steve Lambert. I like him now.

Adorable Little French Girl Makes Up Fairy Tale

I can’t speak French. But whenever kids speak it, I’m always like: “Wow, she’s just a small kid, and SHE can speak French”… For some reason I always get amazed and credit kids speaking foreign languages… even though it’s their mother tongue.
Anyway. The reason why I post this extremely adorable little French girl, is because I admire her fantasy and storyteller ability in such a young age.
“The hippo was allergic to magic”, she says. I love that.
Thanks to Joe Petagno for this one.

Found: Lost Pictures of New York Blizzard

Todd Bieber was skiing in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park and found a roll of film. He had the film developed and this is what he found.
Please contact him, if you recognize the people in the photos: brooklynfoundfilm@gmail.com
- They look Russian to me. Not Dutch, not French, nor Belgian. Whoever they are, I’d like to help… I like stories like this.
